Melinda Wakefield Alberty, soprano
Melinda Alberty recently received her master degree in Voice Performance and Literature at Northwestern University where she sang the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus, First Spirit in The Magic Flute and the soprano solo in Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem. She has also performed as a soloist with Downers Grove Choral Society, and she sang the soprano solo in the Sing-Along Messiah presented by the MacDowell Artists Association along with The First United Methodist Church of Oak Park.
At an early age Melinda gave recitals and performed in productions such as Hansel and Gretel as Gretel and
The Mikado as Yum Yum, and she was the soprano soloist in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic's Side by Side concert of Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a B. F. A. in Musical Theatre Performance, Melinda became a member of Actors' Equity Association and has performed in regional theatres across the country in shows including, CATS, Big River, Once On This Island, and All Shook Up among others. Melinda lives in Oak Park, IL with her husband Nate and their dog Bella.
